IoT Weld Lamp

I did a welding workshop with the excellent WTF (Women That Fabricate) in Bristol and made this lamp (among other things). I had been experimenting with the Particle Photon micro-controller that has some great cloud based tools and knocked up something using IFTTT that responds to my location to let my family know what I am up to. When I leave work it changes colour/animation and again when I am down the road. The square lamp shade creates some cool effects in the animations and one day I will cut some slots in it and fill them with some translucent resin… probably.
