Dotlib were commissioned to create software for an installation project by Bournemouth University which was funded by Interreg. The clients had built some hardware 'Orb' devices which tracked movement with an accelerometer and wanted some software which could represent these movements with sound design and 3 dimensional visuals. The software also needed to be able to record movements and make these recordings available to other Orb users at another site immediately. The final software had several visual and audio modes and the ability to pan and rotate around the 3D visual world enabling incredibly varied effects. Users on different sites were able to communicate via the software which made use of a web server to transport the recording data via the internet.
